As storm recovery continues, we are aware that the Outage Map is not showing some customers who are still without power. Our internal systems for identifying outages and prioritizing restorations are still functioning.

We know it is frustrating for our customers and are working hard to reconcile the outages shown on the map. Please continue to report outages, as needed.

Our crews will continue to work around the clock until the last customer is restored.

November Wind Storm

Over the last 24 hours, more than 150 line crews and 70 tree crews worked throughout the day and night to help over 17,000 customers regain power from storm related outages.

We now have 99% of our customers back online since the bomb cyclone hit Western Washington Tuesday afternoon and will continue to work as fast as we can to restore every customer. Being without power is incredibly disruptive and gets harder as time goes by.

Think safe, be safe

We troubleshoot furnace problems

Do you think your natural gas furnace, water heater or other appliances may not be operating safely? Are you are having problems with pilot lights? Call us at 1-888-225-5773 to schedule a natural gas service technician for a free visit to diagnose the problem. Depending on the diagnosis, the technician can perform minor repairs for a charge.

  • Know how to detect a natural gas leak. If you smell gas, leave the area immediately. Don't do anything that may cause a spark.
  • Check your furnace filters monthly, change or clean as needed to keep your heating or cooling appliances operating safely and efficiently.
  • Have your furnace inspected yearly for proper operation according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
  • If your pilot light goes out and you are unsure about relighting it, call Puget Sound Energy at 1-888-225-5773.
  • Please keep the natural gas meter clear of debris, landscaping bark, shrubs or other vegetation, snow or overhead icicles. If the meter becomes damaged or covered, call PSE at 1-888-225-5773.
  • Never keep flammable liquid or any combustible material near your furnace or water heater, vent pipe or by anything that might ignite. Vapors from paint thinner, gasoline, cleaning solvents, etc. can catch fire or ignite if exposed to a flame or spark.
  • Maintain the natural gas pipes you own. Periodically inspect your gas lines between the meter and your appliances, pools, hot tubs and out buildings for wear and corrosion. Make any necessary repairs immediately.
  • If you are planning any digging, call 811 first to make sure you don't hit any underground utilities.
  • Know the steps to take to be safe in the event of an earthquake, including how to manually shut off your gas.
  • If your gas is shut off for any reason, do not attempt to turn it back on by yourself. Call PSE at 1-888-225-5773.
  • Contact PSE if you suspect your meter appears to show signs of Tampering or Diversion.
